The great end of the Academic Public Speaking Course, created and developed by Associate Professor Oksana Petryna, took place at the English Philology Department. During the course, students were able to learn techniques for organising impactful speeches and insightful presentations, the principles of good delivery, and the basic guidelines for constructing and using presentational material effectively. The course was finalised by Students’ Presentation Session: “The Power of Music” by Nestor Bolshakov; “You Never Get a Second Chance to
Make a First Impression” by Iryna Kostiv; “Music and Language” by Nadia Tuchak; “Fail. Learn. Rise” by Laziza Yerhasheva. Special guests of the event were Yakiv Bystrov, Head of the English Philology Department, and David Livingstone, a visiting Professor from Palacký University, who were impressed by the presentation and communication skills of the presenters. “My dear students, I hope you are as proud of yourself as I am of you! Thank you for your enthusiasm, energy, motivation, and creativity! Now you are more confident and experienced
and are ready to start a new chapter in your professional career.
It was a great pleasure for me to contribute my knowledge and experience to your professional growth and to support you in achieving your goals. ‘I’ve enjoyed working with you, which filled me with enthusiasm and a strong sense of purpose!’ added the author of the course, Associate Professor Oksana Petryna.
