Adherence to the principles of academic integrity, the formation of academic culture and the implementation of university «Code of Honor» are the integral components of the functioning of our university. Recently the teachers of the faculty have joined the webinar Clarivate Analytics «Academic Integrity- Key to the Successful Development of Science and Nation». The speakers were Serhii Kvit, PhD, Professor, Head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA), Tetiana Yaroshenko, PhD, Associate Professor, Vice-President for Research and IT of National University of «Kyiv-Mohyla Academy», Yuliia Hlavcheva, Deputy Director of State Scientific and Technical Library, The National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” and Iryna Tykhonkova, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Digital educational resources, Clarivate Analytics.
In the presentation «Academic Integrity as the Key Element to the High-Quality Education» the head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, PhD, Professor Serhii Kvit considered the role, the function and the possibilities of NAQA in the formation of and abidance by the standards of academic ethics in the society.
The second presentation by Associate Professor Tetiana Yaroshenko «Scientific Ethics and Academic Freedom: Time Challenges and the Risks of the Transformation of the Value» was dedicated to the ethical guideline values of the university studies and education in the current circumstances where she considered the experience of UKMA in applying international standards and ethical principles.
The presentation by Yuliia Hlavcheva « Academic Integrity at the University: Normative Regulation, Technological Solutions, Popularization» dealt with the implementation of the principles of academic integrity in educational and scientific process. She also considered the role of the library in that activity additionally in the form of information management and public support.
In the final presentation «Academic Ethics VS Scientometrics» plenty of valuable information was given by Iryna Tykhonkova regarding the main principles and international standards of academic integrity and the consequences of their violation.
The participants of the webinar had a chance to get the answers to all the questions asked concerning the practical aspects of the implementation of the above-mentioned principles.
