The second international seminar “Literature against War” held by the scholars of the Faculty of Arts, Letters, Languages ​​and Human Sciences of the University of Aix Marseille, France

In solidarity with the Ukrainian universities, the scholars of the Faculty of Arts, Letters, Languages ​​and Human Sciences of the University of Aix Marseille, France (Faculté des Arts, Lettres, Langues et Sciences humaines Aix Marseille Université) held the second international seminar “Literature against War”, which was attended by the lecturers and students of the French Philology Department. At the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Professor Nataliia Yatskiv, the attendees discussed the poem “Hovory” (“Speak”) by Lviv poet Natalia Krisman in the translation of the third-year students Vitaliy Metelytsa and Pavlo Sorokhtey.

Nataliia Yatskiv carried out a thorough analysis of the work in terms of stylistics, lexis, and syntax. Associate Professor of the Department, Lecturer in Translation Theory Andriy Bilas expressed his views on this translation. Senior lecturer Olha Skarbek as well as the students of the Faculty took part in a lively discussion. The lecturers and students of the Faculty are very grateful for the opportunity to participate in such informative seminars and represent the Ukrainian culture and national identity.
