How to hop on the accelerating train of translation services and stay on it? How to find the right translation clients? What skills do beginning translators need, where to get them and how to develop them? How to properly analyze the market and find your place in it? How to remain competitive in the field of linguistic services, which is constantly evolving?
Today, master’s students of the Department of English Philology of the Faculty of Foreign Languages had the opportunity to get answers to these and other questions. As part of a series of events with stakeholders, a meeting was held with Sergii Tyupa, a translator with almost 25 years of experience in the global translation market, a graduate of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Precarpathian National University, a former University professor of Department of English Philology PNU and Department of Translation Studies of Jagiellonian University in Krakow. During the conversation “Modern translation market: to hop on the accelerating train of translation services and stay on it?” the students not only discussed the realities in the field of translation but also talked to an experienced translator on topics of interest to novice translators and looked at their prospects in the language services market from a new perspective.
