From April 22 to 26, 2024, within the project “Capacity Building for Post-Graduate Conference Interpreters’ Training at PNU – 2023-2024” funded by the European Parliament, faculty members from the Department of English Philology – Yuriy Velykoroda, Nataliya Gontarenko, Vita Yurchyshyn, and Kateryna Kobuta – visited Stockholm University. The study visit provided an opportunity to learn about the specifics of teaching conference interpreting at Stockholm University, attend classes in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting and a mock conference, discuss academic programs in conference interpreting at the University, explore research developments in the field of interpreting, and learn about the requirements for conference interpreting examinations and the expectations of European institutions for graduates specializing in interpreting.
The faculty members gave a presentation on the conditions and specifics of teaching conference interpreting in Ukraine and at the Precarpathian National University in particular. The exchange of experiences between universities will contribute to improving the quality of teaching conference interpreting at the Precarpathian National University and facilitate the integration of educational processes at PNU into the European educational model.
